When was yoga day started?


Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recommended

Modi’s government was formed, then on 27 September 2014, the Prime Minister of

the resolution on 11 December 2014, approved the celebration of Indian Yoga as

The first International Day of Yoga – was celebrated

Second Yoga Day – Chandigarh was done by PM Modi in
2016, and around 170 countries participated in it. Its theme was Connect Youth with


3rd Yoga Day – was done on 21 June 2017 in Lucknow.
